He began as an ordinary villain actor but got leading roles from film Aas Pas in 1956. He played various character actor roles in many films in the late 1950s. Admi (1958), Jhoomar, Koel and Neend (1959) were some of his big films. He got huge popularity in title role in film Kartar Singh (1959).

Allauddin was introduced as hero with Bahar in Urdu film Salma (1960). He was also the famous Gol Gappay Wala.. in film Mehtab (1963) and Dinu Tangay Wala.. in film Badnam (1966). He was seen as hero with Neelo, Shamim Ara, Zeba, Deeba, Rani, Shirin, Firdous, Saloni and Aliya in many movies.

Allauddin appeared in leading roles in many of 1960s movies. Some of his big historical movies were Shaheed (1962), Farangi (1964), Zarqa (1969) and Yeh Amn (1971). He was in title roles in movies like Tees Mar Khan (1963), Lai Lagg, Malang (1964), Phannay Khan (1965), Mr. Allah Ditta (1966), Dil Da Jani and ChaCha Jee (1967), Jumman Junj Naal (1968) etc.

Allauddin was born in 1923 in a Kashmiri family at Rawalpindi and was best known as Pahapa Jee (Big Brother). He was interested in singing and went to Bombay before partition. He appeared in few movies there. His first film was Sanjog in 1943. He died on May 13, 1983 at Lahore.
