He was a multi talented artist who began his career from a show on Pakistan Television on September 6, 1966. Ptvs 20th anniversary show in 1984 was a landmark for his popularity. After this show, he was known all over the country. Some of his famous TV shows, especially Yes Sir Nor Sir, Loose Talk etc. with Anwar Maqsood were extremely popular and Moin Akhtar's remarkable all round performance was appreciated all over the world.

Moin Akhtar also tried his luck to become a film star but failed in this filed. Mr. Tabedar (1993) and Mr. K2 (1995) were his movies as hero and Raaz (1992) and Sab Kay Baap (1994) were as supporting actor.
