Film Chakori was made in Bengali language in ex-East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), and released on March 22, 1967 in Dacca (Dhaka). Then, it was dubbed in Urdu language and released in Karachi on May 19, 1967. Distributors in West Pakistan were not interested to release this film due to poor reports of new comers Nadeem and Shabana. First few days film business was very bad, then local boy Nadeem became hero of cinegores and this film celebrated platinum jubilee (81 weeks) - only the second platinum jubilee Urdu film in Pakistan and a new success record for a new pair.
