Mumtaz Ali Khan was a famous Pashto, Urdu and Punjabi film producer, director, writer and poet.
He was director of some mega hit films like Pashto film Orbal (1973), Urdu film Dulhan Ek Raat Ki (1975) and Punjabi film Raka (1983).
His first film was Darra Khayber (1971) and other famous films were Jawargar (1973), Khanabadosh, Deedan, Rahmdad Khan (1974), Baghi Qaidi (1986) and Qyamat Say Qyamat Tak (1989).
Mumtaz Ali Khan introduced noted actors including Waheeda Khan, Asif Khan, Surayya Khan, Humayun Qureshi, Musarrat Shaheen, Ismail Shah and Ajab Gul.
Mumtaz Ali Khan was born in Pabbi, Nowshera, in 1947. He assisted Rangeela in many films. He died on December 3, 2021 in Lahore at the age of 74.
