Yousuf Khan was first artist in Pakistan's film history who completed 50 years as an actor. His first film Parvaz was released in 1954 and his last film Athra was screened in 2006 - 52 years long film career..!

Yousuf Khan was one of few actors whose acting and dialog delivery was very natural and simple. He struggled almost two decades to become a super star film hero. He appeared in more than 200 movies, 1/4 were Urdu movies, but he never became super star in Urdu movies. He was only a super star of Punjabi movies, and not until 1973 when he got breakthrough from film Ziddi.

His first Punjabi film was Paharan in 1962 but he was regarded as a supporting actor in the 1950s/60s. Although he got title roles in two movies, Bau Jee (1968) and Taxi Driver (1970) and as a solo hero Babul (1971) was a super hit film, but all of other movies as solo hero were flopped. His peak period was in the 1970s and many of his Punjabi movies celebrated big jubilees. His film Katharnak (1974) was first ever Punjabi film to complete diamond jubilees (100 weeks) in Lahore and Karachi, simultaneously. When Sultan Rahi became dominant hero after Moula Jatt in 1979. Yousuf Khan again was pushed down to a second choice, but he got huge success in old characters in the 2000 and appeared in title roles in actions movies like Budha Gujjar (2002) etc..

Yousuf Khan was born in a Pashton family at Ferozpur, Indian Punjab on August 1st, 1931 and died at Lahore on September 20, 2009. He scandal with Madam Noorjahan was a controversial topic. He was also known for his hobby and love to pigeon birds.
