Aaejay Kardar was director of film Jago Hua Savera or And The Day Came/The Day Shall Dawn (1959), which was the first ever Urdu film made in Decca, East Pakistan. This memorable art film won the Gold Medal in 1st Moscow International Film Festival and was selected to 32nd Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Movies in 1959.

Aaejay Kardar made another film Qasm Us Waqt Ki in 1969, which was based on the story of Pakistan Air Force and its marvelous performance in the 1965-war between Pakistan and India.

He worked with National Film Development Corporation (NAFDEC) in the 1970s and made many international award winner documentary films.

Aaejay Kardar belongs to the famous Kardar family of old Lahore which was the founder of feature films in Lahore with first movie producer Abdur Rasheed Kardar (best known as A.R. Kardar). He was also the first cousin of Pakistan Cricket teams first captain Abdul Hafiz Kardar.

Aaejay Kardar was born in 1926 at Lahore and died by cancer on February 14, 2002 in London where he lived for more than 25 years. He was buried in Harrow, Middlesex, England.
