Munshi Dil was associated to legendary drama writer Agha Hashar Kashmiri, therefor most of his movies were in theatrical style. He wrote stories and dialogue for many movies and made two movies as director before partition, 2 Bhai and Mulaqat (1947).

In Pakistan, he began with Punjabi film Shammi in 1950. His all time best film was Ishq-e-Laia in 1957 which was Pakistan's biggest musical film with 19 songs - and most of them were super hit songs.

Some of other movies by Munshi Dil were Hameeda (1956), Hasrat (1958), Gul Bakawli (1961 - first partially colored film in Pakistan), Azra (1962 - all songs were colored), Shabab (1964), Sartaj (1965), Dera Sajna Da (1970) etc..

Munshi Dil was born as Aziz Ahmad in Lucknow, India on 1st October 1905 and died on July 2, 1983 in Lahore.
