This film was based on a famous novel Baap ka Gunah by Hakim Ahmad Shuja (The father of film director of this film - Anwar Kemal Pasha). This story was also filmed in 1945 in film Bhai Jan and then in 1969 as Dillan Day Souday and in 1970 as Anjuman.
This film was the first ever Urdu Silver Jubilee hit film in Pakistan which contains a Punjabi song as well. It was first hit film of Sabiha & Santosh pair.
