Mushtaq Ali composed music in more than 40 films. His first film was Mahallaydar in 1970. His last film was Sher Puttar in 2003. He composed music for film Barood Ka Tohfa in 1990, which was the only film on Afghan civil war in the 1980s. He died in 1997.
