Nashad migrated to Pakistan and got more success than in his native country India, where he composed music in 27 movies from 1947-62. His first Indian film was Tootay Taray in 1947 and the most popular song was in film Baradari (1955).. Bhula Nahi Dena Jee.. (Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi). His last Indain film was Flying Man in 1962.
Nashad's was music director of more than 60 films in Pakistan. His first film was Mehkhana in 1964 and his last film was Badnam in 1980. He composed many super hit songs in these films.
Nashad was born as Shoukat Ali and used Delhvi as nick-name. He got his "film name" Nashad from film director Nakhshab Charjavi in his Indian film Naghma (1955).
Nashad was born at Delhi on July 11, 1923 and died on January 3, 1981. Wajid Ali Nashad and Imran Nashad were his sons.
