Ustad Nathoo Khan was born in 1924 in Amritsar, Indian Punjab. His father Mian Moula Bakhsh was also a famous Sarangi Nawaz. He learnt music from his father and uncles. He was also able to sing classical music and performed with Roshan Ara Begum with success.
Ustad Nathoo Khan died on April 7, 1971 at Munich, Germany.
