Malka-e-Mouseeqi Roshan Ara Begum was a noted classical singer who represented Kerana-singing style. She also sang in few movies like Pehli Nazar (1945), Jugnu (1947), Qismat (1956), Roop Matti Baz Bahadur (1960) and Neela Parpat (1969).

Roshan Ara Begum was born as Waheed-un-Nisa Begum in 1917 in Calcutta in a musicians family and learnt the basic singing from her mother Chanda Begum. She moved to Pakistan after partition and settled in Lalamusa, Gujrat where she died on December 5, 1982.
