Renowned film music director Robin Ghosh was honoured to compose music for film Aina in 1977, which was the most successful Urdu film in Karachi. He was also music director of film Chakori in 1967, which was the most popular Urdu/Bengali double version film from ex. East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.
Robin Ghosh started his film career from Dhaka based Bengali films. His first Urdu film was Chanda in 1962, which was also debut film of his actress wife Shabnam, who became the most successful box office hit heroine in Urdu films in Pakistan. He got breakthrough from film Chakori in 1967, which was first film as an actor for playback singer Nadeem. He moved to then West Pakistan and composed music for film Jahan Tum Wahan Ham in 1968. Ehsas (1972), Chahat, Sharafat (1974), 2 Sathi, Umang (1975), Aina (1977), Amber (1978) and Bandish (1980) were some of his best musical films.
Robin Ghosh never composed any song for Melody Queen Madam Noorjahan and Naheed Akhtar. His most favorite singers were Nayyara Noor and Akhlaq Ahmad. He was born in 1939 and died on February 13, 2016 at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
