Saleem Raza's was introduced in film Qatil in 1955 and got breakthrough from a mega hit song in film Saat Lakh (1957)..

Same year, he sang the all time best film Naat in film Noor-e-Islam (1957)..

Saleem Raza was so dominant male singer from 1957-65, that he also gave playback for two other big singers who acted in movies. First he sang for the top Punjabi singer and actor Inayat Hussain Bhatti in film Kartar Singh (1959) and then he sang a classical song for top Urdu film singer Ahmad Rushdi who played the role of TanSen in film Jhalak (1964).

Saleem Raza (real name Noel Dias) was born in a Christian family in Amritsar, India on March 4, 1932 and died on November 25, 1983 in Canada.
