Farida Khanum is known as The Ghazal Queen. She was sister to famous film actress and singer, Mukthar Begum from the 1930s. Farida was introduced as an supporting actress in film Sailab in 1953. Her first song as playback singer was in film Sher-e-Islam in 1961. She sang almost one dozen songs in films but without any success.
