Baba Alam Siaposh was born as Mohammad Hussain in Gurdaspur in 1911. He was graduate from Punjabi University and began his caeer as story writer and poet in Mumbai. His first film was Bhanwar (1947). He was story and song writer in Pakistan's first super hit Punjabi film Pheray (1949). His book Hanerian Raatan is based on his film songs.

Baba Alam Siaposh died on March 2, 1970.
