Aziz Meeruti

Aziz Meeruti was a renowned film writer, poet and director. He made some costume films as director, especially stories based on Alif Laila or The Arabian Nights like Husn-o-Ishq (1962), Hazar Dastan (1965), Lala Rukh (1968) and Paristan (1968).

Aziz Merthi wrote stories for some super hit movies like Nagin (1959), Basheera (1972), Banarsi Thug (1973) and Dillagi (1974. He penned songs for some films as well. He wrote all songs in Pakistan's first Golden Jubilee super hit film Sassi in 1954. One of famous song in this film was "Na Yeh Chand Ho Ga, Na Taray Rahen Gay.."

Aziz Meeruti was born in 1939 in Meerut, India and died on February 22, 2014 in Lahore.
