Roop K. Shorey was a prePartition film director from Lahore. He made his first film Majnu 1935 in 1935. His other films were Tarzan ki Beti (1938), Nishani (1942), Koel (1944), Rut Rangeeli (1946) and Shalimar (1946)
After partition, he was known for his famous musical Indian Punjabi film Chaman in 1948. His only film in Pakistan was Miss 56 with his actress wife Meena Shori. He left empty hands back to India, because his wife decided to stay in Pakistan permanently.
Roop K. Shorey was born in 1914 in Quetta and died in 1973 in Bombay, India.
