Shaan is the one and only film actor in Pakistan's film history who continuously appeared in leading roles in more than 250 Urdu and Punjabi film since his debut in film Bulandi (1990). He faced some downfall in the mid 1990s and got another life from film Ghoonghat in 1996. After the success of film Desaa Da Raja in 1999, he became another Sultan Rahi and dominated the Punjabi actions films. Nikah (1998), Teray Pyar Mein (2000), Humayun Gujjar (2001), Majajan (2006), Khuda Kay Liye (2007) and Waar (2013) are some of his mega hit films.
Shaan was born as Armaghan Shahid on April 27, 1971 in Lahore. His father was a revolutionary dialog writer Riaz Shahid and his mother was a top film heroine Neelo. His uncle Fyaz Sheikh was producer and cameraman. His elder brother Sarosh appeared in a single film. He is married to Amina and has four daughters.
He signed an agreement with Pakistan's leading TV channel ARY to produce and direct movies after the great success of film Waar.
