Azam Chishti was first well-known Naat-Khawan (spiritual singer) on Radio Pakistan. He got fame when he won the gold medal in All Pakistan Naat Competition in 1966. He wrote and sang many famous Naat's in Urdu, Punjabi and Persian languages. He also sang some film Qawwalies as below:

  • Teray Darr Tay Assan Layan Way, Sadi Sun Lay Sajna, Duhaian Way.. (film Goonga 1966)
  • Ya Nabi (saw), Salam Elaika, Ya Rasool (saw), Salam Elaika.. (film Watan Ka Sipahi 1966)
  • Thukra Diya Jin Ko Dunya Nay, Ab Kon Hay Un Ka Teray Siwa.. (film Mera Ghar Meri Jannat 1968)

Mohammad Azam Chishti was author of many poetry books. He was born in Chak 102, Burj Araiyan, Faisalabad in 1917 and died on July 31, 1993 in Lahore.
