Azam Chishti was born in a village near Faisalabad on March 15, 1921. He wrote and sang many famous Naat's in Urdu, Punjabi and Persian languages.

Azam Chishti also sang some film songs, one of his famous Qawwali was in film Mera Ghar Meri Jannat (1968) with Masood Rana and Mala, music by M. Ashraf and wrote by Khawaja Parvez..
