He was a wealthy man from Lahore and began as film distributer (Royal Pictures Distributors) in the 1930s. He was owner of five cinemas, including Capital cinema, and a film studio as "Play Art Phototone" on Mcloud Road Lahore as well.
Hakeem Ram Parshad was producer of first ever talkie Punjabi films Heer Ranja (1932), which was made in Lahore. His second Punjabi film Gopi Chand (1933) was also a flopped film. This failure halted Punjabi film production in Lahore until 1939.
