Rattan Kumar was best known for the famous patrotic - but copied film Bedari in 1957. He re-played his child role from the Indian film Jagriti (1954). His first film as hero was Nagin in 1959 - and it was only hit film as hero on his credits. His last film was Daastan in 1969 and he appeared with his real name Nazir Ali in this film.

Rattan Kumar (Syed Nazir Ali Rizvi) was son of film actor and producer Syed Abbas Ajmeri and younger brother of film director Wazir Ali. His younger brother Musthaq Ali was also seen as an child actor in few films. He died on December 12, 2016 at California, USA.
