First colored Punjabi film..
More than hundred feature films were released this year. 64 of them were Urdu films, which is the record number of Urdu films in a single year in the history of Pakistani films.
The first ever colour Punjabi film Panj
Darya was released on Eid Day on 22.12.1968.
An Iranian religious film on Hajj
rituals Khana-e-Khuda (directed by
A. Razai) was dubbed in Urdu and released in Karachi's Bambino
cinema on April 19, 1968, where it celebrated a fantastic silver
jubilee (26 weeks). This film was released on May 3, 1968
in Lahore's Rattan cinema and was very successful throughout the
country. (thanks to Mr. Aqeel Abbas Jafri, Karachi)

Actors: Kaifee in Sajjan Piara, Badar Munir in Jehan tum wahan hum, Saiqa, Zarqa and Masood Akhtar in Sangdil, Afzal Ahmad in Dhup aur Saye, Nasrullah Butt in Dara aur Saye and Chakori in Sindhi film Sharo Feroz.
Legendry writer and intelectual Ashfaq Ahmad produced and directed a film Dhoop aur Saye.
Masood Rana was introduced as hero in Punjabi film "Do Mutiaran". This film celebrated silver jubilee in its second run in 1986 in Lahore.
Prominent musician Wajahat Attre composed his inaugural film "Paristan" and M. Ashraf composed his first film "Sangdil" after separation from his mate music director Manzoor.

Two Eid-ul-Fittar were celebrated in 1968 and record 21 films were released on these three Eid-days.
