First Colour film in Pakistan..

Producer Zaheer Rehan (1935-71) from Dhaka produced the first ever coloured film Sangam in Pakistan on Eid-ul-Azha Day, April 23rd, 1964.

  • The Ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan and "Pakistani Rafi" Masood Rana got breakthrough from Farangi and "Daachi" respectively. Gullu mein rang bhare..." was an old Ghazal from the 50s but became a super hit from this film and Mehdi Hassan was established as super star playback singer in Urdu films. While Masood Rana sang a street song "Tange wala khair mangda" and became the most complete playback singer in Pakistani Urdu and Punjabi films.

    Debutants:
    Actors: Saloni in Ghaddar, Seema in Meh Khana, Talat Siddiqi in Chhoti Behan and Kumar in Touba.
    Musicians: Top class musicians Nisar Bazmi and Naashad left India and started their Pakistani film careers in films Head Constable and "Meh Khana" respectively, while another famous musician Karim Shahbuddin composed his first film Yeh bhi ik kahani.
