Ahmad Rahi penned many classical songs in movies like Heer Ranjha, Dil Dia Lagian, (1970), Baji (1963), Mirza Jatt (1967), Sassi Punnu (1968), Mahi Munda (1956), Yakkay Wali (1957), Payel Ki Jhankar (1966), Nikkay Hundia Da Pyar (1969) and many more..

Ahmad Rahi began his career as journalist in Urdu magazine Savera from Lahore. His poetry book Tarinjan became text book in language studies in Punjabi. He was born on November 12, 1923 in Amritsar, India and died on September 2, 2002 in Lahore.
