which was sung on the occasion of the second Islamic Summit in Lahore in February 1974. He was also fame for composing and writing a Radio song
which was an introduction to great playback singer Ahmad Rushdi in the mid 50s. Iqbal Bano's famous ghazal by Faiz Ahmad Faiz
was also composed by Mehdi Zaheer.
Mehdi Zaheer's real name was Iftikhar Mehdi and he was born in 1927 at Lucknow. He died on April 5, 1988 at Karachi.
