First B/W film with colour songs..

"Gul Bakawli" (released on October 27th) was the first Pakistani B/W film with colour songs, filmed by M. Fazil, processed by Piaray Khan, music from Safdar Hussain, produced by Qamar Zaman, directed by Munshi Dil and starring Jameela Razzaq and Sudhir.

  • Ahmad Rushdi sang his first hit song in film "Speran".

  • Film "Ghalib" was the last released film as heroine for Madam Noor Jehan. A glorious career from Baby Noor Jehan in 1935 as actress and singer till 1961 - 26 years!

    Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib (1797-1869), was a legendry classical Urdu poet.
    Ghalib was carefree, unconventional and without any scruples and was very fond of drinking and gambling as well. This film is a fictional love story of Mirza Ghalib and a singer/dancer.
    Ghalib never worked as such for a livelihood but lived on either state patronage, credit or generosity of his friends and died on February 15, 1869 in Dehli, British India.
    He was born on December 27, 1797 in Agra, India and was married into a family of nobles at the age of thirteen. He had three or four children, none of whom survived.
