Her first film was Darbar (1958). Qaidi, Aulad, Mouj Mela, Hath Jori, Daachi, Hamrahi, Dil mera dharkan teri, Chan Makhna, Jind Jan, Nei Laila Nya Majnu, Dia aur toofan, Veryam, Andleeb, Dhee Rani, Rangeela, Maa Puttar, Heer Ranjha, Aansoo, Do Rangeelay were some of her big movies. She produced few movies like Puttar da Pyar and Be-Aulad. She was elder sister of actress Shammi, who was married to Sudhir. Her daughter Nida Mumtaz played some roles in few movies.
