A. Nayyar began his singing career, when the legendary male singers like Mehdi Hassan, Ahmad Rushdi and Masood Rana were dominating. His first song was a super hit duet song with Robina Badar, which was composed by A. Hameed and filmed on Nadeem in film Bahisht in 1974..
A. Nayyar was the most busy and popular Urdu male singer in the 1980s. His last film as playback singer was Inteha in 1999 and his last song was filmed on Humayun Saeed.
A. Nayyar was forced to left Pakistan by the religious extremist and he got political asylum in Canada. After eight months, he moved back to Pakistan, but never got any chance to sing for films. He was heart patient for a while and died on November 11, 2016 at Lahore. He was 66 years old and belongs to the Christian community in Pakistan.
